More than 70,000 students on Breakthru are looking for ways to gain work experience, or actively seeking future employment. Amongst a lineup of these opportunities housed within Breakthru’s student application is an exciting opportunity from WeWork, titled, “Do What You Love with WeWork”!

As most of us know, WeWork is a provider of shared coworking spaces where people can work on projects productively. WeWork offices hire interns who can manage the front desk, help customers, and handle new tasks on the fly.. We think this is a great student opportunity that can boost a lot of resumes and LinkedIn profiles. A lot of students that transition from highschool to college don’t get the work experience they need and it can sometimes hold them back from future opportunities.

According to US News, “Some high schools are encouraging students to complete internships in their junior and senior years as a way to gain real-world experience, explore potential career paths and learn basic workplace skills”. Getting experience through internships is a great way to dip your feet into something that you may want to do in the future, but are not completely sure about it just yet. You get to gain experience from a professional setting that will allow you to gradually branch into more goal oriented individuals.

If you work at a WeWork office, you will be communicating with a lot of people and troubleshooting new modern technologies which not a lot of people can do at a young age. So, when it’s time to start applying for part-time or full-time jobs, you will have more than just a High School diploma or a college degree, but experience and tangible skills that will help you become leaders among your fellow applicants!

If you start as an intern with WeWork, you could potentially be an employee with WeWork or even more. When you work with a company for a short period of time, you start developing clearer ideas of what you need to do or what purpose you have with the company. Starting out as a high school student and working your way up to more experienced students with professional backgrounds is bound to be noticed by so many people including your teammates and your employers. Even if you’re not being paid as interns, you are preparing yourselves to get paid in the future by attaining so much valuable information. It is important to understand that these opportunities are not meant to be taken for granted, but should be appreciated.

Breakthru’s mission is to ensure all students receive the financial, educational and career support they need. Download the Breakthru app now to get started on your career journeys!
